If you're looking for a Freebeat alternative, you probably care about two things: what you'll pay, and whether the videos will look like you. Freebeat is an AI music video generator. You upload a song and it generates the visuals with AI models [2]. Clips on MusicMinutes takes a different approach and edits your own real footage to the beat.

We checked Freebeat's pricing page in October 2026 [1]. Prices change, so check both sites before you pay. Freebeat shows UK visitors its prices in US dollars and charges in dollars, so your bank converts the amount (often with a small fee), and VAT may be added at checkout. And yes, this is our blog, so we've stuck to facts you can check and said where the two aren't directly comparable.

Short version: Freebeat suits you if you want AI-generated visuals. If you want lots of beat-synced videos from your own footage in 1080p, plus playlist and feedback tools, Clips fits better.

The fair comparison: Artist Pro vs Freebeat Pro

Freebeat's plan cards bill weekly (Basic) or monthly (Pro and up) [1], so we've paired monthly with monthly. Freebeat Pro is $34.99 a month [1]. The nearest MusicMinutes plan is Artist Pro: £20 a month, or £180 a year, which works out at £15 a month (£180 divided by 12).

For a smaller budget, Freebeat Basic is $6.99 a week [1]. Kept for a whole month that's about $30 (4.3 weeks at $6.99). It sits next to our Artist plan at £10 a month, or £72 a year (£6 a month). The prices are in different currencies, so we've set them side by side rather than converting them. Freebeat was running a limited-time discount when we checked, so we've used its standard prices.

Two things are left out on purpose, and one row needs a warning:

  • AI generation beyond the video. Freebeat's credits also pay for AI music models such as Suno and for AI image models [1], and it has a dance video mode [2]. MusicMinutes works with the song you've already made.
  • Team plans. Freebeat's pricing page has a Team tab [1]. We've compared what one solo artist would buy.
  • Credits aren't videos. Freebeat meters by credits, and the videos you get depend on the AI model you pick. Pro's 10,000 credits a month are shown as about 125 Veo 3.1 videos [1]. MusicMinutes counts the videos you keep and download (100 a month on Artist Pro), each built from your own footage, and one run makes up to 30 drafts to pick from.

Freebeat's Creator plan is $249 a month [1]. Within Freebeat's own prices, Basic kept for a month is about $30 for about 8,560 credits (4.3 weeks of 1,990), next to Pro's 10,000 credits for $34.99 [1]. On our side, paying yearly takes 40% off Artist and 25% off Artist Pro. We haven't put dollars against pounds. Compare what each plan gives you: credits for AI generations, or a set number of finished videos from your own footage, with the tools below on top.

Why MusicMinutes is better for videos that look like you

Your real footage, cut to the beat so it loops

Freebeat lists beat sync too [2]. The difference is what's being synced. Clips finds the bars in your song and snaps the moment you pick to whole bars. Each video starts and ends just before a beat lands, so the end flows straight back into the start. Cuts land on the beat at the speed you choose, and it's you on screen.

1080p, not 720p

Freebeat's Basic, Pro and Ultimate plan cards all list video resolution up to 720p [1]. Clips renders in 1080p, which is 1080 by 1920 for a vertical TikTok or Reel.

Your whole song, up to 30 drafts a run

Upload a song once and the whole track is analysed and transcribed. Switch moments, or take several from one song, without uploading it again. Each run builds up to 30 drafts at once, on both plans, and you keep, shuffle or edit them. A month is counted in videos, so you know what you're getting. On Artist Pro, up to 4 of your 100 videos a month can be full-length (over a minute). Both plans also make Spotify Canvas loops (3 to 8 seconds) from your cover art, with colours from the artwork and text such as tour dates.

Hooks written from what's getting comments

The text hook is the first line on screen, and it's a big part of whether people keep watching. Hook writing isn't listed in Freebeat's plans [1]. Magic Hooks looks at hooks from real musician videos posted in the last six months, ranks them by real comments and narrows them to your song's genre and mood. Hooks can be about your lyrics, your footage or your own idea, 30 per run, so every video can try a different angle. We blind-tested six AI models on real songs, with judges from two different AI companies, and kept the one that ranked best.

Lyrics behind you, and looks applied across the batch

On Artist Pro you can put your lyrics behind the person in your video, so the words pass behind you. It's a big typography trend, and hard to do in most tools, where you'd cut yourself out frame by frame. Clips does the cut-out for you, with smooth or sketch edges and an optional outline.

Artist Pro also includes 11 lyric styles, 20 music visualisers, 12 filters, 10 transitions and 12 effects, plus camera motion like zoom pulses, shakes, sway, glitch, slow zooms and pans. Pick them once and they're applied across the whole batch, CapCut-style, with no timeline editing.

Should a video tool post for you?

Posting yourself takes seconds. Handing it to an app can put your account at risk. We tested direct posting through TikTok's API on our own account, and the account was shadowbanned. That's why the MusicMinutes posting calendar reminds you when to post instead of posting for you, with the video ready to save and a caption and 3 hashtags ready to copy. Because nothing is connected, you can post to as many accounts as you like.

You get far more than a video editor

Both paid MusicMinutes plans include:

  • Playlist Search: around 24,000 bot-checked Spotify playlists with verified curator contacts, so you can pitch the right curators yourself and keep the contacts.
  • Submit: 3 submissions a month to the MusicMinutes playlists, each checked by a human.
  • Clarity: upload a TikTok or Reel and get honest feedback with clear fixes in about 30 seconds, so you know why a video stalled before you post the next ten.
  • Inspo: a feed of real musician videos with their feedback, to learn what actually works.
  • 1-2-1 advice: message Paul, our founder and an independent artist with over 1M Spotify streams, for help with Meta ads, playlist pitching and your release.

Playlist tools and video feedback aren't listed in Freebeat's plans [1]. You can see every MusicMinutes limit side by side on our pricing page.

Real footage, so the videos still feel like you

AI generation is a real creative choice, and some artists love what it makes. But one study is worth knowing about. A Copenhagen Business School study published in August 2026 found that people engaged less with posts labelled as AI-generated or AI-enhanced than with posts made by humans. Engagement dropped whenever a post was labelled as AI-generated, even when the content was identical, and the effect was strongest for emotional content [3].

We never generate footage with AI. Clips edits your own videos, real stock footage or our collections, or makes a visualiser-only video when you have no footage at all.

Where Freebeat might suit you

  • You want AI-generated or animated performance visuals, including lip sync [2].
  • You want to try a weekly plan for one release. Basic is billed a week at a time [1].
  • You also make AI music. Its credits cover AI music models as well as video [1].

The verdict: the Freebeat alternative for videos that look like you

If you want AI to imagine the visuals, Freebeat is built for that. If you want your own footage turned into a steady run of short videos, MusicMinutes Artist Pro gives you 100 a month in 1080p, synced to whole bars so they loop, from your whole song, with up to 30 drafts a run and 300 hooks based on what's getting comments in your genre. Then it adds playlist contacts, submissions, video feedback and 1-2-1 advice.

If that sounds like your release plan, have a look at Clips on MusicMinutes.
