If you're looking for a VEED alternative, you probably want a steady stream of good short videos for your song, without losing every evening to a timeline. VEED is a big, capable browser editor that businesses, marketers and creators use for all kinds of video. MusicMinutes Clips is built for one job: a batch of short videos for one song.

So this comparison looks at what a solo artist gets for the money, and how each video gets made. We checked VEED's pricing page on 10 October 2026 [1]. VEED showed us its UK prices in pounds, so both sides here are in £. Prices change, so check before you pay. And yes, this is our blog, so we've stuck to facts you can check and said where the two aren't directly comparable.

The fair comparison: £15 vs £17

VEED prices every plan per user, and a solo artist needs one seat, so we compare one seat. Both sell yearly plans, so we compare yearly with yearly. MusicMinutes Artist Pro is £180 a year, which works out at £15 a month. VEED Pro, the plan VEED labels as recommended, is £206 a year per user, about £17 a month [1]. That's £26 a year less for Artist Pro.

Paying monthly, the gap is wider: £20 for Artist Pro against £35 for VEED Pro [1]. On the lower plans, MusicMinutes Artist is £72 a year (or £10 monthly) and VEED Creator is £116 a year (or £20 monthly) [1], so Artist comes in £44 a year lower.

A few things are left out on purpose. VEED's plans include tools built for marketing and business video, and MusicMinutes doesn't offer them:

  • AI generation and credits. VEED's Gen-AI Studio, AI avatars and its credits for AI video and image generation [1]. We leave those out.
  • Voice and language tools. Dubbing, translation, text to speech and voice cloning [1].
  • Team and business tools. Multiple brand kits and up to 3 editors on Pro, plus custom templates on Studio [1].

One row isn't like for like. VEED's plans don't list a monthly export limit, and export length is unlimited on its paid plans [1]. MusicMinutes counts videos, with 100 a month on Artist Pro. With VEED the limit is your time, because you build each video yourself. With Clips the limit is the monthly count.

VEED pricing vs MusicMinutes pricing

The plans a solo artist would look at. VEED's prices are per user, as shown to us in the UK [1].

MusicMinutes Artist Pro £20 a month, or £180 a year (£15 a month) Everything in Artist, plus 100 videos from up to 15 songs, 4 full-length videos, every style, lyrics behind the person, 300 Magic Hooks, 20 Clarity analyses, 10 GB storage

VEED takes up to 51% off when you pay yearly [1]. MusicMinutes takes 40% off Artist and 25% off Artist Pro. A solo artist only needs one seat. For that seat, VEED's money goes into a general editor with a lot of AI tools. Ours goes into music videos, then adds playlist tools and video feedback on top.

Why MusicMinutes is better for music videos

A batch in one sitting, not one video at a time

VEED's own lyric video guide is the general-editor way of working. You upload your music and video, add lyrics with auto subtitles or paste them in, then adjust, cut, merge and split in the editor [2]. Its music video guide is the same idea: drag the track onto the timeline, trim it, then add text, photos, filters and effects until it looks right [3]. That's flexible, and fine for one video.

A release needs dozens, though. Clips asks you to pick a moment and gives you up to 30 different drafts at once. Keep the ones you like, shuffle the rest, or tweak any single video.

Beat-synced loops from your whole song

Clips finds the bars in your song and snaps the moment you pick to whole bars. Each video starts and ends just before a beat lands. The end flows straight back into the start, so it's easy to watch twice. Cuts land on the beat too, at the speed you choose (Auto, Slow, Medium or Fast).

The whole song is analysed and transcribed on upload. Want a batch from a different part next week? Pick a new moment, with no second upload.

Hooks written from what's working right now

The text hook is the line on screen that decides whether someone keeps watching. Magic Hooks starts from evidence. It looks at hooks from real musician videos posted in the last six months, ranks them by real comments, and narrows them to your song's genre and mood. You choose what the hooks are about: your lyrics, what's on screen in your footage, or your own idea.

It writes 30 at a time, so every video in a batch can carry a different hook and you can see which angle lands. We blind-tested six AI models on real songs, with judges from two different AI companies, and kept the one that ranked best.

Lyric styles, and lyrics behind you on Artist Pro

Artist Pro includes 11 lyric styles, 20 music visualisers, 12 filters, 10 transitions and 12 effects. Camera motion like zoom pulses, glitch or slow pans goes on the whole batch at once, CapCut-style. No timeline editing.

On Artist Pro you can also put your lyrics behind the person in your video, so the words pass behind you. It's a current typography trend, and VEED's plan table lists a Text Behind Person tool too [1]. Clips offers smooth or sketch edges and an optional outline, on up to 30 minutes of footage a month.

Spotify Canvas and full-length videos

Clips makes 3 to 8 second Spotify Canvas loops from your cover art, with its colours, movement and text such as tour dates. It renders 9:16, 4:5 and 16:9, and Artist Pro covers 4 full-length videos a month for when you need more than a short.

You get far more than a video editor

Every paid MusicMinutes plan includes:

  • Playlist Search: around 24,000 bot-checked Spotify playlists with verified curator contacts, so you can pitch the right curators yourself and keep the contacts.
  • Submit: 3 submissions a month to the MusicMinutes playlists, each checked by a human.
  • Clarity: upload a TikTok or Reel and get honest feedback with clear fixes in about 30 seconds, so you know why a video stalled before you post the next ten.
  • Inspo: a feed of real musician videos with their feedback, to learn what actually works.
  • 1-2-1 advice: message Paul, our founder and an independent artist with over 1M Spotify streams, for help with Meta ads, playlist pitching and your release.

VEED's plans don't list playlist tools or feedback on your videos, which makes sense for a general editor. You can see every limit side by side on our pricing page.

Real footage, so the videos still feel like you

VEED sells AI video and image generation, paid for with credits, and AI B-roll [1]. A Copenhagen Business School study published in August 2026 found that people engaged less with posts labelled as AI-generated, even when the content was identical [4]. The drop was biggest for emotional content. Music is about as emotional as content gets. Clips edits your own clips and real stock footage. We never generate footage with AI.

Where VEED might suit you

  • You make all sorts of video. If you also make talking or business videos and want one editor for everything.
  • You want 4K exports. VEED Pro and Studio export in 4K [1]. Clips renders in HD.
  • You need AI avatars, dubbing or voice cloning. Those are VEED tools we don't offer [1].

The verdict: the better VEED alternative for musicians

VEED is a strong editor if you want to build videos by hand. But a release needs a month of content. Artist Pro costs less on the yearly plan and turns one song into up to 30 beat-synced drafts in one go. It writes hooks from what's getting comments in your genre and makes your Spotify Canvas too. Then it adds playlist tools, video feedback and 1-2-1 advice on top.

If that sounds like your release plan, have a look at Clips on MusicMinutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is VEED a month?

When we checked in October 2026, VEED showed us UK prices of £20 a month for Creator, £35 for Pro and £70 for Studio, per user, paying monthly. Paying yearly, it's £116, £206 and £412 a year [1]. MusicMinutes Artist Pro is £20 monthly or £180 a year.

Yes. You add lyrics with its auto subtitles or paste them in, then edit the video on the timeline [2]. Clips does the same job in batches, with lyric styles timed to your song and every video snapped to the beat.

Can I make a Spotify Canvas with VEED?

We couldn't find a Canvas option in its plans in October 2026. Clips on MusicMinutes has a Canvas mode on both paid plans.
