Finding afrobeats playlists that actually take pitches usually means hours of digging for curator emails, and even then you can't tell which lists are real. So here's a shortcut. Below are 10 afrobeats Spotify playlists with a published way to reach their curator, all through our bot and quality checks. If you're planning your afrobeats Spotify playlist submission for your next release, start here.
Updated October 2026. On 11 August 2026, TechCrunch reported that Spotify would start showing "AI Persona" badges on some artist profiles from mid-September, and that "by default, Spotify won't include AI Personas in its editorial or algorithmic recommendations" [1]. It's a sign Spotify is being more careful about what it recommends. Independent playlists with real listeners are still one of the few routes you can work on yourself.
This list is MusicMinutes' own data, pulled from Playlist Search on 11 October 2026 [3]. It's a sample of afrobeats and close cousin playlists (afropop, afropiano, amapiano, afro adura) that clearly fit the genre, not our top-rated list. Those, with contacts for every one, stay in Playlist Search.
The list: afrobeats Spotify playlists taking submissions
Follower counts are as of 11 October 2026 and change daily. The list is sorted by followers. In the style column you'll find the playlist's top genre tags, so you can see at a glance whether it leans afrobeats, amapiano or something nearby.
| # | Playlist | Followers | Style |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | AfroBeat 2026 🔥 | 62,318 | afrobeats, afrobeat, afropop |
| 2 | BEST OF NAIJA AFROBEATS, AMAPIANO & AFROFUSION (Naija, Ghana, African Mix 2025) | 14,284 | afrobeats, afrobeat, afropop |
| 3 | Mood Setter ❤️🔥 | 10,824 | afrobeats, afro r&b, alté |
| 4 | Relaxed Afro Beats 🤙 | 7,992 | afrobeats, afrobeat, afropop |
| 5 | AFRO-BEAT VIBES 🌴🔥 | 7,793 | afrobeats, afrobeat, afropop |
| 6 | New Afrobeats 2026 🔥 Official | 6,979 | afrobeats, afrobeat, afropop |
| 7 | AFROBEATS & Chill 2026 🏝 | 4,250 | afrobeats, afrobeat, afropop |
| 8 | Home Grown | 3,204 | alté, afrobeats, afro r&b |
| 9 | BASS ABUSER AMAPIANO | 2,301 | bacardi, amapiano, gqom |
| 10 | Afro Groovement | 1,750 | afrobeats, afrobeat, afropop |
Names like "Relaxed Afro Beats" and "AFRO-BEAT VIBES" only hint at the sound. Don't let the name decide for you. Open each one, play a handful of tracks and check that your song would sit well next to them before you send anything.
How we picked these
Every playlist here came out of MusicMinutes Playlist Search on 11 October 2026 [3]. To make the cut, a playlist had to meet all of these:
- Its top two genre tags include afrobeats, afrobeat, afropop, afropiano, amapiano or afro adura.
- A pass on our quality checks, without being one of our very top-rated afrobeats playlists (those stay in Playlist Search).
- At least 1,000 followers.
- A published way to contact the curator.
- Not on our excluded list. Playlists we've marked as botted, payola or removed are hidden automatically.
- A name that isn't explicit.
After that we took out anything that didn't clearly fit the genre by its name or tags. We also left out playlists named after an artist, and any whose name looked like it included a curator's name, because we don't print those. Then we picked 10.
Our quality checks run daily and look at follower history, how active the playlist is and how many small artists it features. Followers alone can be faked, which is why we never go on them alone.
One honest caveat. A published contact means the curator can be reached. It doesn't mean they take every style, reply to every message or will add your song. That part is always their call.
Afrobeats Spotify playlist submission: how to pitch these well
Curators of busy afrobeats lists get a lot of messages. The ones that get a listen tend to be short and clearly written by someone who's heard the playlist. A few habits help:
- Listen first. Spend five minutes on the playlist before you pitch it. You'll hear the tempo, the mood and whether it's more Lagos club or late night chill.
- Match the sound. Use the style tags as a first filter. A song built on log drums fits a list tagged amapiano and gqom better than one tagged afro r&b. If your track isn't a fit, skip that playlist. It saves you both time.
- Write one personal message. Use the playlist's name, say why your song belongs there in a sentence or two, and keep the whole thing short. A copy and paste blast is easy to spot.
- Send a Spotify link, not attachments. Curators add from Spotify, so give them the track link and nothing they have to download.
- Follow up once. If you hear nothing after a week or two, one polite nudge is fine. After that, move on and pitch someone else.
- Never pay for a placement. If a curator asks for money to add your song, say no thanks. The next section explains why.

What to avoid
Two things can hurt an afrobeats release more than no playlists at all: paying for placements and landing on botted playlists.
Spotify is blunt about the first one. Its artificial streaming page says it "strictly prohibits using any third party service that promises streams or playlist placement in exchange for money," and that any service that guarantees streams, followers or playlist placement for money is "not legitimate and should be avoided" [2]. The possible consequences listed include "Removal of the song from Spotify playlists" and even "Removal of the track from Spotify altogether," and artificial streams "do not earn royalties" [2].
Botted playlists are the quieter problem. They can look big, with thousands of followers, but the plays don't come from real people. Your numbers jump, then nothing follows, with no saves and no new fans. That's a lot to risk for plays that were never real listeners.
That's why every playlist above passed our bot checks and quality checks that look at more than its follower count. Still, trust your ears. If a playlist's tracks all sound random and its follower count is huge but nothing on it seems to get played, leave it.
Where to find the curator contacts
We've left contact details out of this post on purpose. Curators deserve better than having their email pasted on a public page, and a curator buried in spam reads fewer pitches, including yours.
If you'd rather not hunt for emails by hand, Playlist Search is the tool this list came from. It covers around 24,000 bot checked Spotify playlists you can search by keyword, genre, mood or similar artist. Each one has a daily quality score with its follower history and a verified curator contact (an email, Instagram or a submission link). There's no fee per pitch, and you keep the contacts you've revealed even if you cancel.
It's on the paid plans, with Artist from £72 a year, which also includes 3 human checked submissions a month to the MusicMinutes playlists. Contacts for these and more than 600 afrobeats playlists, including our highest-rated ones, are in Playlist Search.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it free to submit to these afrobeats playlists?
Messaging a curator directly costs nothing. If a curator asks you to pay for a spot, walk away. Spotify says services that promise placement for money aren't legitimate [2].
Will these playlists add my song?
Nobody can promise that. Each playlist has a published contact, but curators choose what goes on their lists. A song that fits the playlist's sound, sent with a short personal message, gives you the best shot.
Why are there amapiano playlists on an afrobeats list?
We included playlists tagged with close styles (afropop, afropiano, amapiano and afro adura) because plenty of afrobeats songs cross over. Check the style column and only pitch the ones your track genuinely suits.
Are these the best afrobeats playlists on Spotify?
No, and that's deliberate. They're a sample that passed our bot and quality checks, not our top-rated list. Playlist Search rates every playlist daily from follower history, activity and how many small artists it features [3], and that's where you'll find the highest-rated afrobeats playlists and their contacts.
Where can I find afrobeats playlist curator emails?
We don't print curator contacts on public pages, because that only brings them more spam. Every playlist in the table above has a published contact, though. The verified email, Instagram or submission link for each one is in Playlist Search.
