Hunting down R&B curators by genre eats whole evenings, and you still can't tell which playlists are real. So here's a shortcut for your next R&B Spotify playlist submission: 10 R&B Spotify playlists that passed our bot and quality checks. Every one has a published way to reach its curator. Pick the ones that sound like your song and pitch them one at a time.
Updated October 2026. In August 2026, TechCrunch reported that Spotify would start showing "AI Persona" badges on some artist profiles from mid September, and that by default it won't include AI Personas in its editorial or algorithmic recommendations [1]. That's a reminder that Spotify decides what its own recommendations push. Playlists run by real people are a route to listeners you can actually work on yourself.
The list comes from MusicMinutes' own Playlist Search data, pulled on 11 October 2026 [3]. It's a sample of R&B playlists with a curator contact that clearly fit the genre, not our top-rated list. Those, with contacts for every one, stay in Playlist Search.
The list: 10 playlists for your R&B Spotify playlist submission
Sorted by followers. Every name links to the playlist on Spotify, so you can listen before you pitch. The style column shows the playlist's top genre tags from our data.

How we picked these
We searched Playlist Search on 11 October 2026 for playlists whose top two genre tags include r&b, alternative r&b, contemporary r&b, neo soul, trap soul, pop r&b or dark r&b. Then we applied a few filters:
- A pass on our quality checks, which run daily on follower history, how active the playlist is and how many small artists it features. We left out our very top-rated R&B playlists; those stay in Playlist Search.
- At least 1,000 followers.
- A published way to contact the curator.
- Not on our excluded list. Botted and payola playlists are hidden automatically, along with ones that have been removed.
- No explicit names.
From what passed, we dropped the ones named for another genre, single artist pages, and any whose name included a person's name or handle, since we never print contact details. Then we picked 10.
A contact means you can reach the curator. It doesn't mean they'll reply, take every style of R&B or add your song. Curators decide.
How to pitch R&B playlist curators well
A lot of pitches go nowhere because the song was never right for the playlist in the first place. These habits help.
- Listen first. Spend ten minutes on the playlist. Notice the tempo, the vocal style and how polished the mixes are. If your song would feel out of place in the middle of it, skip that one.
- Match the sound, not just the word R&B. A slow quiet storm ballad and a dark trap soul cut are both R&B, but they rarely sit on the same list. Use the style column as a first filter, then trust your ears.
- Send one personal message. Use the playlist's name, mention a song on it you genuinely like and say in a sentence or two why yours fits next to it. Add your Spotify link. Keep it short enough to read on a phone.
- No attachments. A Spotify link is all a curator needs. Leave out audio files and press kits in a first message; if they want more, they'll ask.
- Follow up once. If you hear nothing after a week or two, one polite nudge is fine. After that, move on and pitch your next song when it's out.
- Never pay for a placement. More on that below.
If you want a fuller walkthrough of the message itself, here's how to pitch your song to Spotify playlist curators.
What to avoid
The searches that bring R&B artists to curator emails also bring them to people selling placements. Spotify is blunt about it. It "strictly prohibits using any third party service that promises streams or playlist placement in exchange for money," and says any service that guarantees streams, followers or playlist placement in exchange for money is "not legitimate and should be avoided" [2].
The risk lands on you, not the seller. Spotify lists possible consequences including "Removal of the song from Spotify playlists" and "Removal of the track from Spotify altogether", and artificial streams "do not earn royalties" [2].
Botted playlists are worth avoiding too, even when nobody asks you for money. A big follower count means little if the listeners aren't real, which is why Playlist Search hides botted and payola playlists automatically.
So if a curator replies with a price for adding your song, thank them and walk away.
Getting the curator contacts
We haven't printed any emails or handles here. Curators share them for pitching, not for scraping into blog posts. They live in Playlist Search, where you can search around 24,000 bot checked Spotify playlists by keyword, genre, mood or similar artist. Each playlist shows its daily quality score with follower history, plus a verified curator contact (an email, an Instagram or a submission link).
There's no fee per pitch, and you keep the contacts you've revealed even if you cancel. The paid plans also include 3 human checked submissions a month to the MusicMinutes playlists through Submit. Artist starts at £72 a year.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is R&B Spotify playlist submission free?
Pitching a curator directly costs nothing but your time, and every playlist above has a published contact you can use. If a curator asks for money to add your song, Spotify says that kind of service should be avoided [2].
Is a bigger playlist always better to pitch?
No. A smaller playlist with an active curator and real listeners can do more for you than a huge one nobody actually plays. That's why our quality checks look at activity and how many small artists a playlist features, not just its follower count.
Are these the best R&B playlists on Spotify?
No, and that's deliberate. They're a sample that passed our bot and quality checks, not our top-rated list. Playlist Search rates every playlist daily from follower history, activity and how many small artists it features [3], and that's where you'll find the highest-rated R&B playlists and their contacts.
Will these curators add my song?
Nobody can promise that. Each curator decides what fits their playlist. A song that matches the sound, sent with a short personal message, gives you the best chance.
How current is this list?
It's a snapshot from 11 October 2026. Follower counts move every day, so check the playlist on Spotify before you pitch. Playlist Search shows the latest numbers for every playlist.
